The second piece in my twist series opens up the box form. Spatial engagement with the viewer has been a driving theme of many of my large works. As early as 1976, I started opening up the interiors of my pieces to invite the viewer inside. I was very curious how one’s sense of space and enclosure change as planes lean out, swoop down, and fall away. When are we inside? How do sound and light change?
