Jamoke

In 2013 we built in steel a male "Jamoke" as a companion piece to the earlier cast-concrete female sculpture, "Ngozi". The idea was to site these a large distance across the meadow from one another to see whether the two works could hold a vast space. I cut, formed, welded, and ground the plates at the corners to create the box-form components. The crisp edged and powerful forms reinforced it male aspects in contrast to the softer, more curvaceous form of "Ngozi".
