Every few years I put aside the large work, for a time, to concentrate my efforts on a more intimate, interior scale.  Usually anywhere from 8 to 15 pieces emerge. I work on the group as a collection of related decisions moving back and forth among various pieces-- an approach which is not possible given the spatial and mental demands of the large works.
